To Keep Food items Fresh For longer

Potatoes. Any sign of them beginning to look droopy, peel them and put them in a bowl with cold water and keep in the fridge. Un peeled potatoes will last longer if you add a piece or ginger to the container where you keep them.

Lettuce. Take out of any wrapping and keep in a paper bag in the fridge. Lettuce likes to be able to breathe!
Other greens. Keep them in their packaging but put in a piece of stainless steel cutlery and re close.

Eggs. To keep eggs fresh for longer, saturate some paper towel with vegetable oil and rub over the shells. Store in the fridge and they will last weeks longer.

Milk. When you have more milk than you need and the expiry date is fast approaching, you can extend its life by adding a few pinches of good old baking soda because it is alkaline and reduces the acidity in the milk that makes it go off.
