file permissions on index.html

I haven't been able to figure out how to remove or change the default index.html file in my root directory. All attempts to change, remove, rename and delete come up with an error regarding permissions.... ftp error code 550.

Anyone got a suggestion?

do you use any ftp program ? might be easier to add / remove things from your webpage,
I use Filezilla which is a great free tool. just search for it at www.download.com hope that helps 8)

I thought that it might be a ms problem so I used ws_ftp and the error code 550 (permissions) is constant.


This will most likely require an admin fix.
