Default Restoring a Forum Back-up from another site....

    Hi all,

recently I wanted to move my previously paid site (hosted somewhere else) and use my forum backup on my new free site here. So I could have all my old posts and old users with the same username / passwords as before so the move wouldn't be a big confusion. The main purpose of this was that I wasn't going to be paying for the site anymore and I didn't want to make it a big deal cause there's 100 users on my forums and about 2000 posts. Not that it's a crazy deal, but it's kind of dramatic to start over again with no users when we've been up for a year now. Is there an easy way to do this, cause I noticed the admin controls have been modified so we couldn't restore a backup of a forum or even backup the free forums at all here. I'm guessing I have to get someone at bizhat.com to do it right? Just wondering if there was a way I could do this myself without bizhat.com doin it for me.

Just restore the database from admin panel using "Restore Database"
upload the db gz file in the roo directory and then restore
You can also use phpmyadmin to import database

use the db username and password in the config file of the phpbb forum

Yea normally I would do that except the option isn't allowed on free hosted sites here. So lets try another idea.

I thought you are moving from free forums to a paid
    or dedicated webhost.
    Else its not possible

yea I didn't want to continue paying for my boards on another site and wanted to install the backup so the old posts would be there on the new free one and keep goin from there. All good though I'll either ask people who use the site to donate, or just start it from scratch on the free one.
