    Default California at a Glance

Extending along much of America's Pacific Coastline, California is one of the country's most beautiful visitor destinations. Visit the coastal town of Eureka on California's Redwood Coast, the vineyards of Sonoma and Napa, and stunning Mount Shasta. The capital city of Sacramento is close to destinations throughout the Sacramento Valley as well as the San Joaquin Valley in the south. In the High Sierra, visitors can visit Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. On the border with Nevada, vacationers can play at the popular destination of Lake Tahoe. Around San Francisco Bay, guests can visit Silicon Valley, Oakland and, of course, the city of San Francisco. The Central Coast features many beach resorts including Big Sur, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara and Monterey. Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Orange County offer beaches, skiing and attractions such as Disneyland Resort. Adjacent to Mexico, San Diego offers the San Diego Zoo and numerous Mexican-themed attractions. The California Deserts feature Palm Springs, Death Valley and the Mojave Desert.

Default thanks for the real info

Hi buslady, thanks for the real info. As a tourist, people are thinking of National parks and the wild beauty of the nature. What about the climate there, is it bareable ?. Which is the best time visit the area.

What are the main tourist attractions of San Francisco and California in your opinion.

I live in Southern California, right now, it is hot and dry. Very very little rain this year. Those visiting from hot, arid places would feel at home right now!
Around here the tourists would see Disneyland of course, Hollywood, Los Angeles which in my opinion is not really great-it's dirty; not classy like New York; there is famous Huntington Beach-know for it's surfing history.
Even in the National Parks you can get some heavy traffic during the holidays. Always find out when those are and AVOID them. Summer (May to August) is the tourist season, it's very busy. Don't rent a car, take a cab. You don't want to drive around here, it's bad. It might look all wonderful and organized but it's bad.
I dont that much about San Francisco cos I live 500 miles south of it! ^.^ heheh...
