Open: anyone can see and join without group moderator approval

Closed: new members of the user group must be added by group mod or by board admin. Anyone can see it, they just can't join on their own.

Hidden: only members of the group know it exists, it is "hidden" from the general board population. New members must be added by the group mod or by a board admin.

i was also wondering, that if i assign a member to a usergroup, and the usergoup has permision to view and tak on forums, i noticed that the member itself, under permissions, still does not show as though he has the permision to do so.

Is this corect? or is it a glitch?

i thought that by slecting the group to have permission, each usergroup would have it too?

As it states on the page, the highest permission set (group or personal) takes precedence.

    Example:

User "abc" is part of usergroup "xyz". Group "xyz" has permission to view forum "private1". Even though user "abc" does not have the individual permission, he will still be able to view forum "private1".

    End of example.

I've found that assigning permissions by group is much easier than by person except in rare cases.
