Mollywood filmi associations have been tying for a long time to avoid clashing their films with Tamil biggies.

As many Kollywood stars command big initial collections from Kerala, even small time filmmakers are careful enough to reschedule the dates, away from Tamil releases.

Recently the associations has even brought a resolution which only permits the Tamil films to get released in Kerala only after two weeks from their original release dates in Tamil Nadu. But even this move didn't have resisted the engaging film buffs to register fill houses for Kollywood films.

The recent news of interest is that Ilayathalapathy Vijay's new release 'Kuruvi’, has fetched a record amount by selling Kerala theatrical rights!

The right of the movie directed by Dharani and produced by Udayanidhi Stalin is said to have brought by leading hair dresser Mahi, for Rs 1.50 crores. Mahi has earlier produced and distributed two Malayalam films Dileep's ‘Chess’, and Suresh Gopi's ‘Detective’.

‘Kuruvi’ is scheduled for a release in May. Due to mid summer vacations and the increasing number of fans in the state, the film is sure to make a terrific opening in the state. Vijay's earlier releases ‘Pokkiri’ was one of the highest collecting films of last year, which completed hundred days in many centers.

Even his Azhagiya Tamil Magan did not do well in Tamilnadu, it made good businesses in Kerala.

The Kerala theatres are also waiting for the big Tamil releases like ‘Dasavadharam’, ‘Yaradi Nee Mohini’ and ‘Varanam Aayiram’, which will hit the release centers in a couple of months.
