Uppumavu
Ingredients
Green chillies - 4 - 5 nos
Ginger - A medium piece
Onion(small) - 5 no
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Coconut oil - 3 tbsp
Black gram(Uzhunnu) - 2 tbsp
Curry leaves - 2 stems
Fried rava - 2 glasses
or
Plain rava - 1 1/2 nazzhi
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp (optional)
Salt - As reqd
Preparation Method
1)Chop onion, chillies and ginger.
2)Take a vessel or pan and heat rawa, till it becomes golden brown.
3)Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
4)Splutter mustard seeds.
5)Add onion, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves, black gram and saute for 5 mins.
6)Add 4 glasses of water into this along with turmeric powder and salt.
7)Let the water boil.
8)When it boils, add rava into it and stir it continously for 3 mins.
Do not make it dry, add boiled water if you want to make it loose..
its more tasty when its not dry...
Serve hot.
