    Can anyone suggest some good free music software (mp3 players, ripper, etc.)

    www.download.com

    search for the keyword mp3 , filter on free software and tadaa ,

    Mp3 player i would say Winamp , www.winamp.com , ripper CDex , www.download.com , search for CDex

    I think you may like to try Jet Audio.
    As I think Jet Audio is best music player after Windows Media Player.

    go the the apple website, i'm pretty sure its a free download.

    it rules all mp3 players

    looks like overhung is visiting internet after ages......which he spent listening to those crazy sounds on iTunes...lol.

    winamp's latest version supports everything.
    Its light and better then anything.

    CD ripping is also supported by musicmatch...

    winapm's paid version supports CD writing and so does musicmatch.


    But this is all free with Windows media player and it has superb sound quality and u.timate compression power in the form of WMA.

    So go for Windows Media Player 10

    I'm pretty much and iTunes guy! I love the interface and it seems to rip a little faster than other free software... It may just be my Plextor cd-rom though....

    Give iTunes a try....

    iTunes also supports the apple lossless format! If you rip with lossless your rips sound identical to the original cd...
