Php scripts

I need some good php scripts to control access to my site. I would like to have a database with the registered users. How can I do this?

Its better if you study PHP and make your own scripts.

Maybe you can try to take some ready-to-install-scripts....
Just go to a php-site, like http://php.resourceindex.com/ and when you've installed a script, just go and watch the source-code... You can learn much from source-codes...then copy the files and try changing stuff.... this way you slowly start understanding the language and maybe later you'll be able to write them yourself!

We only get one SQL database, so I wouldn't get too PHP-happy =B

This sites is a terrific resource offering interesting articles about PHP. It has serveral forums where help can be sought on PHP scripting. Some source code is available for free download and you can even access PHP manual online there.
