Foundation for dark woman:-A good foundation is the key to clever make-up for a dark complexioned woman. By 'foundation', it refers to the base of your make-up. This includes concealer, foundation, and powder. When you're decorating a room, you don't just slap the new paint onto the old without first scraping off the unwanted wallpaper, and cleaning down the paintwork. You need a good base from which to apply the colors that you have chosen - and this goes for make-up, too.

Cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin, then apply the concealer, foundation, and the powder to create a smooth base - you can then apply choose a suitable colour for a blush followed by eye make up and lipstick to complete the task.

Understand the coloring of your skin tone:

Light:-If you have an ivory or porcelain complexion, then your skin tone is Light.

Light-Medium:-If you have a rose beige, light olive, or ash brown complexion, then your skin tone is Light-Medium.

Medium-Dark:-If you have a yellow-beige, medium olive or rose-brown skin, then your skin tone is Medium-Dark.

Dark:-If you have a dark olive, bronze, rich beige or black complexion, then your skin tone is Dark.

Summer / Winter-Dark Skin:-You have cool skin tones, with a pink or blue undertone, and make-up that echoes these tones will make you look healthy and alive. Avoid honey-based cosmetics that could make you look yellow and extremely unwell!

Spring / Autumn-Dark Skin:-You have warm skin tones, with a golden or honey tone and make-up that echoes these tones will make you look healthy and alive. Avoid blue-based cosmetics that could make you look rather grey and drawn!

Ivory, Ivory Beige, and Natural Beige foundations have a definite warm tone to them
Pink Beige, Pink Blush, Rose Glaze and Winter Rose are for cooler skin tones

Natural foundation is a bit of an enigma. It looks great on its own on a darker complexion and suits both warm and cool skins but, when mixed with any of the other 7 shades, it adds a sparkle to your face - especially good for party time. Liquid concealer can be applied before or after your foundation. Translucent powder will 'set' your make-up.It will last longer and will not add any color to what's already there.

Choose the right color for dark skin :-For your blush, you should choose colors from coral, rose, deep orange. Avoid browns for blush-on. For very dark skin, try a dark rose pink color for the day and shades of bronze, plum and wine for the night. Blend the blusher over the cheekbones, as it helps to brighten the skin tone. For special occasions at night, use a touch of gold. It can really look glamorous on dark skins.
