Ingredients

2 cups - rice
¼ cup - urad dal
¼ cup - chana dal
1 - coconut
1 - potato
1 - carrot
1 - small onion, minced
4 - green chillies
50 g -. shelled green peas
25 g - cabbage
1 tsp - cumin seeds
2 tbsp - finely grated coconut
½” piece - ginger
a pinch - eating soda
salt to taste

Method

1. Steam cook all the vegetables and mince them.
2. Soak dals and rice in water for about 6 hours.
3. Extract thick juice from coconut.
4. Grind rice, dals and ginger and cumin seeds to a paste along with chillies.
5. Mix all the vegetables, coconut, coriander leaves, onion, salt, baking soda and enough coconut milk to form a thick batter.
6. Set aside for 1 hour and then steam.
