Will the Diwali 2009, light up the Kollywood box-office? Diwali, traditionally the second biggest festival in Tamilnadu is round the corner (October 17). As usual, Kollywood producers and distributors are just waking up to the season, as three films are confirmed.
There are 10 days more for Diwali 2009, and Kollywood line up for the festival is clear.. There are going to be only three Tamil releases for this Diwali falling on Saturday, October 17.
The three releases with theatre bookings are Suriya’s Aadhavan, Jayam Ravi’s Peranmai and Namitha’s Jaganmohini. The long in the making Jai- Vijayalakshmi starrer Adhe Neram Adhe Idam claims that it will release for Diwali, though the trade is unaware about it.
Among the lot Suriya’s Udayanidhi Stalin produced KS Ravikumar directed Aadhavan has the clear edge as the best of theatres in Tamil Nadu has been booked for the film which is likely to open in nearly 250 to 300 screens on October 16, making it the widest ever release.
