KOLLAM: A total of 204 films would be screened at the three-day children's film festival beginning here on November 14.

Two categories of films -- those made by children and for children -- would be screened at the festival, being organised by Kerala Institute of Educational Technology.

Master Mani, a tribal boy who won the best child artiste award of the state government in 2006 for his performance in the film `Photographer,' would inaugurate the festival, the organisers said.

Workshops on film-making and acting have also been arranged as part of the festival.

More than 1,000 delegates including teachers and students from schools across the state would participate in the event as delegates. The public would also be allowed to view the screenings, the sources said.

Cine artistes Madhupal, Kukku Parameswaran, and Murali Menon would conduct classes in the workshop on acting, while cinematographer Sunny Joseph and director-critic Vijayakrishnan would speak at the workshop on fil-making.

The festival aimed at creative intervention among students to acquaint them with the art of film-making, Institute of Educational Technology Director Babu Sebastian said.
