Linux newbie

Hi, I'm thinking of switching to Linux so I was wondering what is the best distro to start with? I would really like to learn on a simple one and then slowly advance and use Debian or Slackware.

its the best also Slack is many difficult to configure

Ok, I have a new question. How do I make a dual boot? I want Windows 2000 and some form of Linux. Also, is it possible for a triple boot? I've been itching to try Solaris 10.

Make sure u have different partition to install Linux. Just install Linux and in the GRUB setting it will automatically configured as dual boot.

Just in case after installation and you trying to boot into Windows but cannot, go to your bios change your harddisk drive access mode (if i am not wrong) change to LBA.

In my opionion Mandrake or Redhat is the easiest to use. For installing Solaris,
Linux and Windows make 3 partions and install each in each of the partions.
