Lakshmi Rai has signed Mangatha after a long break.

The Venkat Prabhu directed Mangatha is a bi-lingual and a multi starrer that features Telugu superstar Ajith, Nagarjuna, Neetu Chandra and now Lakshmi Rai. Lakshmi’s claim to fame in Kollywood and the local media is through her “closeness and we are good friends” image that she created with MS Dhoni. Now that Dhoni is married Tamil newspapers are now linking her name with Arya.

However Lakshmi’s films in Tamil have hardly helped her to get a foothold in Kollywood. Venkat Prabhu’s multi starrer Mangatha may just be the right film for her to make a bigger splash in Chennai tinsel town.
