The buzz in trade circles is that Sun Pictures Enthiran, theatrical rights have been sold at a new record price for the territories of Andhra and Karnataka.

It means the Shankar directed film featuring Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai is already a super hit!

Telugu rights of Robot have been purchased by Thotta Kanna Rao, a trader from West Godavari. It is believed to be the highest price paid for any dubbed film in Andhra. The price talked about in the trade varies from Rs 27 to Rs 33 Crore, though Sun Pictures are yet to confirm the deal

The Karnataka rights of Enthiran is also said to have been snapped up by Thimmah Gowda and Srikanth, two leading Bangalore based distributors for a fancy price. The deal is said to be around Rs 9 Crore, though there is no official confirmation on the deal.

Trade analyst says that it is a 100 percent increase on the price paid for Rajinikanth’s last release Sivaji in 2007.
