Long time back the two had almost got the chance to work together for a project titled ‘Chamki Chameli’, an adaptation of Georges Bizet's classic French opera Carmen. However, the plan never saw the day and finally B-town’s diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and eminent filmmaker Shyam Benegal will now be a team for a different venture.

Our birdies reveal that Aishwarya will feature in Benegal’s forthcoming female centric film. It is heard that the project will hit the floors next year.

Birdies add that the film will be set in a different time zone, but it can’t be called a period film.
