A lot of criticisms were raised from every corners when cine artiste association of Mollywood, AMMA, boycotted the state government's function to felicitate Universal star Kamal Haasan, who reached his best from a humble start in Malayalam.

But now, Jagadheesh, the treasurer of AMMA had made it clear that AMMA didn't participate in the event not as any sign of disrespect to the much accomplished actor, but due to the fact that the programme was meant to be telecast in a private channel. The artists were trying to pay heed to the clauses in the agreement made between producers and artists. Jagadheesh was anchoring his new version of Asianet's ‘Nammal Thammil', the famous talk show when he made this statement.

Moreover Jagadheesh also said that AMMA is also on the plans to organize a separate grand function to honour Kamal Haasan, which will realize in a matter of six months.
