Default Taking care of the cold

With the onset of winter you can expect to be confronted with a variety of winter ailments like common cold, cough, sore throat and the flu. A change in diet, a change in geography or a change in temperature and climate can trigger infections.

During this period of adjustment to the changing season, the body’s immunity tends to be low and therefore the body is susceptible to many ailments.

“A little care, a little wisdom is essential to live a healthy life. Make sure your warm clothes are exposed to sunlight before you wear them. This will kill the microscopic germs. Drink copious amounts of water and listen to your body,” says Dr. Umeshlal Sharma.

    Tips
The panacea for any kind of ailment is to eat healthy, stay active and exercise. For your best shot at staying healthy this winter, make sure you eat enough of vegetables and fresh fruits each day. In addition, opt for whole grains when you can, and make sure you’re taking in at least two servings of milk or yoghurt each day.

Eggs and non vegetarian food could also help boost metabolism but spicy dishes need to be avoided.

Focus on hygiene. Wash your hands with hot, soapy water every time you use the washroom and before every meal. Hands are the primary courier of cold and flu viruses, which can live on door knobs, keyboards, steering wheels and other “touchy-feely” surfaces for up to a day.

Physical activities help to boost the immune system.
Along with proper nutrition, studies indicate that exercise makes you more resilient. Jogging, running, yoga or just a 10 minute early morning walk can do wonders.Winter has its own set of challenges. So if you want to keep up with the rest of the world don’t let ailments come your way. Little prevention and care can mean a lot and make a lot of difference. Stay healthy, stay happy.

Great article. There are some tips to get better from this problem. Foods that make you feel better, like warm soups. Green tea can increase energy and boost the immune system. The infected persons are recommended to get plenty of rest, some experts recommend them to take a lot of supplements of vitamins C or zinc and drink a lot of water.
