Deepika Padukone turns 25

Deepika Padukone ,dusky beauty from Bangalore, turns 25 today. The gorgeous Capricornian is on a backpacking trip through Europe along with her boyfriend Siddharth Mallya. The duo left for London to ring in 2011.

2010 was an eventful year for Deepika with as many as five releases: Karthik Calling Karthik, Housefull, Lafangey Parindey, Break Ke Baad and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey. Sadly, only one of the five did good business at theatres, but Deepika says she had something to learn from every film.

But more admirable than anything is how she came to terms with her break-up from Ranbir Kapoor. Rather than being depressed, she immersed herself in work and made new friends, including Siddharth Mallya. Their budding friendship was to be seen during the IPL, when she cheered for Mallya’s team Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Later in the year, Deepika also sparked a controversy by saying on Koffee With Karan that her ex beau Ranbir should endorse a condom brand. This year, she is looking at a few interesting roles, including one in Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan.
