CHENNAI: The Indian cricket team went off the media radar Tuesday when they did not show up for a scheduled practice session late Tuesday afternoon at the IIT campus ground here.

No reasons were assigned nor was anyone responsible in the Indian camp available for a comment, leaving the media in a limbo.

Most of the team, barring Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir arrived here Monday night from Nagpur, where they had lost to South Africa over the weekend, while coach Gary Kirsten joined the squad Tuesday.

With England and West Indies, scheduled to play their Group B match Thursday occupying the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, India's training session was shifted to the IIT ground in south Chennai.

The local media officer R.N. Baba had even made transport arrangements for the media to commute from Chepauk to the IIT grounds, but he too had no explanation to offer.

The Indians, on seven points, are slated to play the West Indies here Sunday in their concluding Group B fixture.
