Ashwin Shekar, son of actor-and-politician S Ve Shekar, got enagaged to Shruti Venkatraman at the GRT Convention Centre in Chennai yesterday, May 8th, 2011. Ashwin is also an actor and had starred in films like Vegam and Ninaivil Nindraval. Their wedding is scheduled to be held on August 24th, 2011 at the Mayor Raamanathan Chettiyar Hall in Chennai. Yesterday’s engagement was a grand affair with several actors and politicians attending it. Notable among them are Cho Ramasawamy, GK Vasan, EVKS Elangovan, Jagathrakshagan, Kushboo, Sundar C, Poornima Bhagyaraj, and Kavignar Kasimuthu.
