The Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Wayanad, Kerala, has invited applications for admission to the following programmes of Academic Year 2011-12

i. Capacity building for Livestock Technology Enterprises
ii. Wildlife Management

Eligibility:-
--------------
Master of Science in Biostatistics:
Bachelors degree in Statistics / Mathematics / Engineering / Science with Mathematics as optional subject at higher secondary level

Master of Science in Quality Systems in Dairy Processing:
B. Tech (Dairy/Food Technology) /Graduation in Microbiology/Chemistry/Food Science/Biology from a recognized University will be eligible for the programme

Master of Science in Wildlife Studies:
Bachelor’s Degree in Biosciences (Botany, Zoology, Veterinary Science, Forestry etc.)

Diploma in Poultry Production:
Pass in Plus Two or VHSE with Biology as one subject

Diploma in Laboratory Techniques:
Pass in Plus Two or VHSE with Biology as one of the subject

Diploma in Dairy Science:
Pass in Plus Two or equivalent with Science subjects or VHSE with Livestock Management (Dairy Husbandry) or Dairying (Milk Products)

Certificate in Capacity Building for Livestock Technology Enterprises:
Minimum SSLC or equivalent

Certificate Course in Wildlife Management:
Field level forest department personnel (may be on deputation), zoo keepers, members of government approved vanasamrakshana samitis and eco-development committees and any other person interested in working with wildlife

Application forms and prospectus for admission to the above mentioned programmes are available in the KVASU website www.kvasu.ac.in in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.

The downloaded application should be printed on one side of A4 size paper. The filled in application forms may be submitted along with application fee as detailed below to the Registrar, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Camp Office, Mannuthy, Thrissur, Kerala - 680 651 so as to reach on or before 25.07.2011 at 3.00 pm.

Application cum Processing fee (Rs.):
Master of Science General Category: 1000 SC/ST Category: 500
Diploma General Category: 500 SC/ST Category: 250
Certificate General Category: 200 SC/ST Category: 100

The application fee shall be paid by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, payable at the State Bank of Travancore - Ollukara, Thrissur.

Documents to be attached with Application Forms:
i. True copy of the relevant page of the S.S.L.C. or equivalent certificate to prove the date of birth
ii. Attested copies of mark lists of qualifying examination.
iii. Certificates relating to nativity and community in the body of the application form.
iv. Certificate in support of any reservation claimed as specified in the prospectus/application form.
v. Recent photograph of the candidate to be affixed in the application form duly attested.
vi. Income certificate obtained from Tahsildar/Village Officer in the case of Other Backward Communities.
vii. A recent conduct certificate, obtained within 6 months.
viii. Demand Draft for the application fee.
ix. One self-addressed stamped envelope (worth Rs. 10/-) of size 23 cm x 10 cm.

Selection Process
-------------------------
MS courses:
On the basis of Admission Test (AT) conducted and rank list prepared by KVASU. Candidates will be considered for admission only if they secure a
minimum of 40% marks (35% for SC/ST candidates) in the admission test. Diploma and Certificate Programmes: Selection will be on the basis of interview and ranklist prepared by KVASU. However, the selection of candidates for certificate course on capacity building in livestock technology enterprises would be based on written test and interview.

KVASU Assistantship for M.S. programmes:
KVASU Assistantship of Rs. 5000/- per month will be awarded to two students from each M.S. programme, based on their rank list and academic merits.
