The Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) has a vacancy of 350 BTech seats while 700 BTech seats have been filled after the third allotment. The time for taking admission after third allotment elapsed at 5 pm today. After allotments, classes will start on July 18. Nearly 20 students deserted Cusat after the ranklist of the Kerala Engineering admission was released, according to Cusat sources. The Cusat officials expect further desertions in the coming days and expect to fill these vacant seats through spot admissions.
Even after the classes are started on July 18, the Cusat will allow desertions and will not penalise deserters, but will charge only what is charged now. Since the Kerala Engineering admission is yet to take off, this decision will come as a big relief to the students.
