Asin’s ‘savage’s climb to the top Asin’s ‘savage’s climb to the top

While she’s yet to join the ranks of the B-town A-list (despite being a superstar down south), Asin looks to be shaping up to be a proper little diva-in-the-making, if our Bollywood sources are to be believed. From hobnobbing with stars like Salman Khan – who she worked with first on the box office disaster, London Dreams, and then on the recent mega-hit Ready – to dumping her not-so-influential actor boyf, Neil Nitin Mukesh, via a curt mobile text which said, “It’s over”, Asin has come across as pretty ruthless when it comes to making her way to the top.
Although Asin struck gold with her debut, Ghajini, and later with Ready, Bollywood-watchers claim she doesn’t have much to work on in the future, barring a bit part in the star-packed Housefull 2. And even her Southern supporters are now said to be furious with her for what they see as Asin leaving them behind for Bollywood fame, with her “mentor” Salman, putting in a good word for her with top film-makers. Picked Bollywood fame over love
Ever since her career has shown a (slight) improvement, insiders say Asin’s been behaving like a spoilt star, only breaking up with Neil after she hit it big. “She has been avoiding him since Ready,” revealed a friend of Neil. Adding, “Asin was insistent that Neil never talked about their affair. Also, they are poles apart – she’s controlling and fiercely ambitious, he’s fun-loving and easy-going. But the real trouble began when she started bonding with Sallu.”
