    Default Musical Jokes

Once there was this concert performed by a piano accompanist and a French horn player. And the accompanist had a page turner. As you may know, the page turner sits on the left of the accompanist. Every time when the page turner had to turn pages, he was always turning from the bottom of the page which right covered the music at the bottom that the accompanist had to see. After a while, the accompanist got annoyed, so he whispered to the page turner, "from the top, from the top... ps... from the top"... so the next time, the page turner turned all the way back to the beginning...

I will assume that this joke will be easily understood by musicians......

    Default Horowitz and Toscanini

So one time the famous Russian pianist Vladimir Horowitz was performing the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1 with Toscanini. In the middle of it, Horowitz forgot his music, so he was whispering to Toscanini, "ps... Toscanini..... where are we?". Toscanini was too into the music, so no response... Horowitz whispered again, "hey, ps... where are we?" This time Toscanini whispered back, "at Carnegie!".

    Default from the top

Normally, when musicians say "from the top", that means from the beginning. In that joke, the accompanist wants the page turner to turn physically from the top end of the page. However, the page turner thought that the accompanist meant from the beginning. I hope you got it this time!
