Default Fox TV on DVD; Columbia November catalog; new 'Meet the Pare

    60 Minutes - 11:02pm
Kicking off today's news is Fox's extensive lineup of December catalog and TV on DVD releases.

Perfect as stocking stuffers are a batch of ten minor catalog faves, all remastered in their original aspect ratios and lacking any extras aside from trailers, but with a nice price of $9.95 a pop: Pact with the Devil, Man Trouble, Wild in the Country, Love Me Tender, Epoch: Evolution, Paris Texas, Partners in Action, Dragon Storm, Jack the Bear, Curse of the Komodo, Silver Streak and the big-screen update of The Beverly Hillbillies. Expect a street date of December 7th.

TV on DVD fans will have a lot to look forward to as well on the 7th. First up is 24: Season 3, which features anamorphic widescreen transfers and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround tracks, plus audio commentaries on select episodes, deleted scenes, "Season 4 Preview," "24: On the Loose," "Boys and Their Toys," "Biothreat: Beyond the Series" and "Inside Look: Mr. and Mrs. Smith" featurettes, and a multi-angle study. Retail will be $59.95.

Next up is M*A*S*H: Season 7, which features the usual 4:3 full screen transfers, mono mixes and the option to watch with or without a laugh track. There are no other extras, and list price will be $39.95. Last but not least, Fox has also announced a December 7th street date for King of the Hill: The Complete Third Season. What, if any, extras will be included has not yet been announced, but expect a $39.95 list price. And watch this space for the full details to be announced soon.

    Key Party - 11:02pm

Just in from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment are three new catalog titles, all due on November 16th. Released as a tie-in for the big-budget remake is the original ribald comedy Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, plus the racy The Pickle, and the family-friendly animated adventure First Snow of Winter. Each will be presented in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby 2.0 (except Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, which will be mono only) and include bonus trailers. Retail will cost you $19.95 a pop.

Home for the Holidays - 11:02pm

Rounding out today's news, its another high-profile double- dip reissue. On December 14th, Universal Studios Home Video will release a new version of the megahit Meet the Parents, just in time for the theatrical debut of its highly-anticipated sequel. To be available in separate anamorphic widescreen and full screen versions, each includes a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track, plus the new extras "Robert De Niro Sings 'Love Is In The Air' segment, "Meet the Cast of Meet The Parents and Meet The Fockers" featurette, 23 minutes of outtakes, and deleted scenes with commentary. Retail will go for $29.95.
